How to make custom pieces orders

If you are thinking of requesting a custom order, please read carefully the text below and, may you have any question after reading it, get in touch with me via email. If you are making a custom piece request, we both agree that you are accepting the process and conditions below.

Here you can find the process to make the request of both custom pieces or a version in sterling silver of any of the pieces of our catalogue that are available only in bronze in the shop, which we only make in silver to order, after a quote request:

- If you are interested on purchasing any of our catalogue pieces in silver, please get in contact with me at info@nebelstudio.com, providing the following information:

  1. Which piece you want me to make in silver (if you can add a link to the bronze version of the catalogue to make sure, even better.)

  2. Whether you want only the piece itself or, in the case of pendants, if you also want a cord (leather or rubber), or a silver chain to go with it.

  3. If it is a ring, please let me know the size, so I can quote it. If you don't know the size, here I show you how to check it.

Even though the first point is the most important one, I will need to know the other two in order to make the quote. The more information about what you want you provide, the easier it will be for me to quote the piece.
Please also keep in mind that the points above are the minimum information I need to make an estimate.

- If what you want is ordering a fully custom piece, steps are quite similar, but I will need a bit more information.
In this case, please send me an email to info@nebelstudio.com with the following information:

  1. Which kind of piece you want (earrings, ring(s), pendant, etc.), whether you already have a design in mind, and in what material you want it (please remember I don't work with any kind of gold).
    • If you have a sketch/picture/design/references of the style you have in mind for the piece that you want me to make, please attach them to the email, it will be a great help for me to understand what you want, and start thinking on the best approach (and have an idea of the time it might take and the needed materials.)

  2. Whether you want only the piece itself or, in the case of pendants, if you also want a cord (leather or rubber), or a silver chain to go with it.

  3. Whether there is a particular deadline. I mean, if you need the piece for for a particular date (i.e. because it is for a birthday, a proposal, a wedding or a special event.) Knowing this will help me evaluate whether it will be possible to make the piece in the needed timeframe*

If it is a ring, please let me know the size, so I can quote it. If you don't know it, here I show you how to check it. In the case of custom rings this is even more important because if the size is not correct, you could not change it for another, as it will need to be made again.

- Also, please keep in mind that if a piece needs to be made fully from scratch, the price will be different because because it will require much more work and dedication, since we are talking about a fully personalised design.

- Please bear in mind that quotes may take a few days. Depending on the workload I'm having, I will be able to reply quite fast, or it will take a bit more. Given the current fluctuations of the price of silver, once the quote is sent, it will only be valid for 5 days. After that time, we will need to recalculate the base material costs.

- Remember that it will be a non-binding quote, meaning that when I send you the quote it does not mean I have automatically accepted the order; and requesting a quote does not mean you are obligated to accept it.
The only thing I ask you is that if you request a quote, please do it because you are really interested. Making the quote takes time, and I would like to devote that time to a something relevant. Thanks a lot for understanding.

- Once the quote is done and accepted by both parts, a payment of the 50% of the quoted amount will be done in advance, in order to formalise the order. The rest will be paid once the piece if finalised and ready to ship. I will create a listing in the shop for the rest of the payment to be done, and I will send you the link to it. This way, you can make the payment in the way that works best for you (PayPal, card...) with all security, as would be in any other purchase.

- Quotes are estimations because -given the price of silver is changing daily- I cannot provide a 100% closed price in terms of material. It takes some days between the time you post the order, I provide the quote, I make the piece and it is cast, and in that time the price of silver will fluctuate, so the final price of the material will be the one from the day it is cast. The final price of the piece cannot be calculated until it is out from foundry. In any case, I will try and give you a quote as much accurate as possible, based on the movements of the price of silver during those days. I know it's a bit annoying, but I cannot risk making a closed quote right now.

- For custom pieces, the communication will be more constant, since I will be showing you the progress to confirm that we are both aligned with how it is going.

Thanks a lot for your interest, and for your patience.

*A small clarification regarding timeframes and deadlines. The process of designing/making/finishing takes time (it can be a few weeks, may be even more), and that's why I ask you to make the requests with as much time ahead as possible. Please keep in mind that the fact that I accept an order does not imply that I will be able to start working on it immediately. It is possible that I have previous orders to work on, that I need to be making pieces for the shop or a market, or that any special situation impedes the work at a certain time (holidays when the foundry I work with is closed, health issues, unexpected matters, etc.) With this I mean that the more ahead time you give me when sending the request the better, because I will be able to give your order the time and attention it deserves.
