Regarding international shipments
As you have probably realised when visiting the shop, we have made some changes in it after our return from holidays. For more information about these changes, please visit this blog entry, where I explain it in detail.
Apart from that, something you have probably seen is a banner at the top of the page informing that we are temporary not doing international shipments.
This is what I wanted to explain here. It is a temporary measure, but at the moment we have no alternative rather than this.
As you know, we had to stop doing shipments to USA due to the new custom measures and fees imposed by the USA government. We are really sad about this, but we cannot send packages that we don't know if they will ever get to destination. According to the US Postal Service, after the implementation of the latest rules and the obligation to make customs declarations and pay custom fees on all shipments (whatever the value), they just cannot cope with all the paperwork. Since they don't have enough resources to manage all the shipments, the parcels are not accepted, and so they are sometimes not getting to customs and they get lost, returned or even sometimes destroyed. As you can imagine, this is a risk we cannot face. We cannot take on the costs regarding declarations, returns compensations for parcels that have not been delivered, because they are lost or destroyed. Apart from that, it is not easy for me to accept that all my work and efforts may end in a crematory oven, losing money in the way (as a cherry on top.)
So, with a heavy heart for my customers there, we had to stop shipments for an indefinite time, not knowing when they can be done again.
Summing to this, due to the USA impositions in terms of custom fees and the problems with the shippings from China, it seems that Europe has decided to adopt a new normative and we found out, when updating the shipping rates for 2026, that Correos España does not admit International Registered shippings (anything shipped outside Spanish territory) that are not documents. Anything else must be shipped as a parcel. To our surprise (and everyone else's, seeing the comments from colleagues in Social Media), they have not created any option for light, small shipments, and they have opted for giving only the option of Paq Light Internacional, for which the cheapest option is €15.04. In our opinion this is really expensive for parcels that very rarely reach 100g, as in our case.
We are searching for alternatives, but it is complicated, as the courier agencies use very similar rates because they work with price ladders based on weigh and the lighter one is usually 1-2Kg, with a price that is more or less the same that Correos offers. So we are looking at options and, as soon as we have one, we will start having international shippings again. At least for the rest of Europe and, later on, we will see whether it is possible to expand to other zones.
We are very sorry for all the inconveniences this mess may cause and we hope we can solver it very shortly. At the moment, and to avoid any complications, this is what we can do.
